Description
Charles Smith opened his first winery, K Vintners, in December of 2001. His most recent collection of wines is centered on the classic grape varietals of Italy starting with Barbera in Italy’s northern winegrowing region of Piedmont, the Sangiovese grape from central Tuscany, and finally the Primitivo grape from Italy’s southern winegrowing region of Puglia, the heel of the boot. And while the wines all have Italian heritage, the grapes are all grown in Washington state from single vineyard sites – Cervo, Cinghiale, Porcospino. Made for you by the Famiglia Smith: Charles, Ginevra, and Charlotte.
The medium gold/salmon colored 2017 ViNO Sangiovese Rosé offers a vibrant, strawberry and cherry-scented bouquet as well as a rounded, supple, nicely textured style. With both racy acidity and a fleshy, textured, salty style on the palate, it’s a versatile rosé to drink over the coming 6-12 months.
Produced from Sangiovese, the 2017 Vino Rosé reveals pretty aromas of strawberries and watermelon, followed by a juicy, medium-bodied palate with moderate alcohol and tangy acidity. It’s a mouthwatering and well-made rosé for an incredibly reasonable tariff. (June, 2018)
