  The 2018 Château De Candale has a gorgeous perfume of ripe blue fruits interwoven with lots of chalky minerality, violets, and cedar pencil-like aromas and flavors. Rich, full-bodied, and concentrated, this puppy has a wealthy of fruit, integrated tannins, outstanding balance, and a great finish. Well worth seeking out, it’s going to have 15 years or more of longevity. (3/16/2021)

  The 2018 de Candale marries a rich expression of the year with mid-weight structure. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint, rose petal and cinnamon are all nicely lifted throughout. Silky, radiant and open-knit, the 2018 will drink well right out of the gate. (3/31/2021)

  Very pretty and tightly wound young red with a solid core of fruit and firm, silky tannins. Extremely long and focused. (4/1/2019)

  Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Candale offers lovely floral notes of rose hips and lilacs to begin over a core of black cherry compote, warm plums and black raspberries plus wafts of crushed stones and dried leaves. Medium to full-bodied, it has a firm, fine-grained texture and plenty of freshness supporting the fragrant fruit, finishing earthy. (24th Apr, 2019)

  Showing again what can be done when St-Emilion takes its foot off the pedal and gives the fruit some room to breath, this has firm but juicy raspberry and blackberry fruit and is highly appealing. It demonstrates a well-controlled extraction, being structured but unfussy. (4/1/2019)
