Tasting Notes
At tasting, the Château Couhins white 2016 reveals aromas of peaches, pears and passion fruit. The wine is balanced in the mouth, combining roundness, a beautiful volume on the attack and a pleasant freshness, which lends a fantastic length.

Nicolas Tasting Notes:
“Pale yellow color, shiny green reflections, bright, beautiful open nose, typical of blackcurrant bud, peak notes of green asparagus then spicy on pink pepper, mineral crystalline notes, nice balance, dry and lively, full-bodied, of finesse, character on aromas of hawthorn flowers, vanilla, buttered wood and shells, beautiful young and tense extension.”

  • 92 Wine Enthusiast

Unusually for the appellation, this Sauvignon Blanc-dominated wine holds a touch of Sauvignon Gris. That gives a charming, perfumed character to the crisp acidity and citrus flavors. The wine is developing quickly and easily, so drink from 2021. Roger Voss

  • 91 Robert Parker The Wine Advocate, LPB

The Couhins 2016 Blanc gives up lime zest, orange blossom and grapefruit notes with wafts of crushed rocks and wild thyme. Medium-bodied, tightly wound and very refreshing, it delivers wonderful intensity and purity with a long steely finish.

“Without exuberance but with precision, it awakens the taste buds: peach flesh, linden, acacia, a hint of vanilla, the palate is well constructed between volume, minerality, aromatic and well-controlled final bitters”. 16/20 Terre de Vins May 2017
