Tasting Notes
Crafted from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, sustainably* grown in the clay-limestone soils of the historic Château Coustaut La Grangeotte in Médoc, this wine is a beautiful crimson Bordeaux red with a rich, complex fruity bouquet boasting aromas of strawberry, raspberry and blackberry.
It is a harmonious wine with smooth tannins and fruity, long-lasting flavours and is an excellent companion for a wide variety of meat dishes and cheeses. This wine can be drunk now but will further improve if carefully stored for up to 3 years.

*Château Coustaut La Grangeotte has implemented sustainable agriculture methods since 2000, in partnership with Yvon Mau.

Winemaker’s Notes:
For three generations, the Coustaut family have devoted their experience and know-how to producing wines of superior quality, in keeping with Bordeaux’s illustrous traditions. The vineyards of Ch. Coustaut la Grangeotte are planted with Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon grape varieties. This blend produces a highly aromatic wine with prominent notes of redcurrant, autumn flowers and ripe red berries.

Wine History:
Crafted from a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, sustainably grown in the clay-limestone soils of the historic Château Coustaut La Grangeotte in Médoc. Prior to the second World War, Château Coustaut la Grangeotte was renowned as one of the finest wines in the Bordeaux region. It won recognition with a Gold Medal at the Antwerp World Expo in the 1930s. Since then three generations have succeeded each other on this estate. They have implemented sustainable agriculture methods since 2000, in partnership with Yvon Mau. Château Coustaut La Grangeotte is located in the Médoc area of Bordeaux. Here the soil type is clay-limestone. Cold stabilisation of the grapes takes place within 48 hours before temperature controlled fermentation occurs.

Serving Suggestion: The perfect companion for a wide variety of meat dishes and cheeses. Serve at between 16 and 18°C.
