There’s a savory edge to the nose here with dried-plum and earthy nuances interwoven. The palate has a bold, fleshy and flavorful core of red plums and plenty of tannin. A blend of 92% merlot and 8% cabernet sauvignon. Drink now.

“Moderately saturated ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, plum, licorice, menthol, fresh herbs and spices. A supple yet rather firm midweight with sexy oak spices accenting flavors of black cherry, menthol and licorice. Conveys a tight grain and a restrained sweetness, along with a mineral restraint. The adamantly dry finish features fairly suave tannins.”– Stephen Tanzer

This wine shows light aromas of blue fruit, plum and spice. The palate boasts sculpted fruit and barrel flavors, conveying a good sense of structure and balance. SEAN P. SULLIVAN

  • 88 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate - Jeb Dunnuck

“The 2014 Merlot Canoe Ridge Estate Vineyard is another enjoyable wine from this estate and is 98% Merlot with just a splash of Cabernet Sauvignon. This plump, sweetly fruited, sexy effort gives up lots of plums, licorice, toasted spice and cedary notes in a delicious, hard to resist package. It’s ideal for drinking over the coming 3-4 years.

Under the leadership of Bob Bertheau, Chateau Ste. Michelle continues to ratchet up the quality level and is producing a terrific lineup of wines that deliver both quality and top notch value.”
