Winemaker’s Notes:
Concentrated cranberry and raspberry notes with underlying cedary notes. Mouthfeel consists of broad, full tannins with a touch of black pepper on the finish.

“Conn Creek is a boutique winery on the Silverado Trail in the Rutherford district. For 40 years, the winery has focused on Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux-styled wines. In search of the best Cabernet Sauvignon, we’ve discovered many exceptional single-vineyard sites throughout Napa Valley.
Today, Conn Creek sources fruit from prized vineyards in nearly all of Napa Valley’s 15 renowned sub-appellations to provide winemaker Mike McGrath with an unparalleled palette from which to blend each wine. It’s an approach that captures the “Best of Napa Valley.”

Wine Spectator:
Well-proportioned, with intense, vibrant black cherry, wild berry, currant and smoky, cedary oak, showing a more herbal side on the finish, where the tannins are green with a tealike edge.

Dark, luscious cherry and plum flavors come alive on the palate, melding with notes of spice, chocolate and licorice.

Esquin W&S:
“Ripe blackberries with heavy purple floral notes. Broad tobacco leaf entry punctuated with spice notes resolves into a rich elegant finish.”

Aromas of plums, blackcurrants and herbs blaze up the glass, while hints of eucalyptus sneak in from the sidelines, creating a fabulous aroma profile. On the palette, the cab is fruity saturated with polished tannins and discreet acidity that keeps handles in the barrel notes of vanilla, coconut and orange peel. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak – of which 10% new French casks and 30% new American casks.

Broad and ample aromas of raspberry, cassis, and black pepper waft from the glass of this Conn Creek Cabernet Sauvignon. The flavors are bold and expressive, offering a palate full of black cherry, cigar box, and chocolate. This wine is comprised of select grapes throughout various California AVAs, grower relationships the Winery has cultivated for many years. The combination of these vineyard sites and their expressions of terroir all contribute to the complexity of this wine. Pair this wine with prime beef tartare, petite filet mignon, or spiced beef short rib.

Food Pairings:
• Hardwood grilled tri-tip with chimichurri and roast fingerling potatoes
• Roast leg of lamb with spring vegetables
• Wild mushroom and feta strudel
