  • 95 Jeb Dunnuck

All from the Sundance Vineyard on the Wahluke Slope, the 2015 Syrah The Deal (100% Syrah, not destemmed and aged in 30% new puncheons) offers smoking notes of red and black fruits, black olive, smoked earth and a huge meatiness. Full-bodied, silky and seamless. (4/2018)

  • 93+ Robert Parker Wine Advocate

The most reticent and reserved of these Syrah bottlings, the 2015 Syrah The Deal Sundance Vineyard opens in the glass with notes of sweet red berries, potpourri and tapenade. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, firm and chewy, with an assertive chassis of structuring tannins. (WK) 93+ (6/2018)

  • 92 Wine Spectator

This shows no shortage of torque, but the intensity and richness keeps pace, offering blueberry and raspberry flavors accented by licorice and peppered beef notes. Best from 2021 through 2026. (TF) (8/2018)

  • 91 Vinous Antonio Galloni

Bright, dark ruby-red. Pungent aromas of blackberry, pink peppercorn and black licorice. Juicy and intensely flavored but tighter and less sweet than Motor City Kitty and Milbrandt Syrahs, and more about finesse than primary fruit. Finishes classically dry. (ST) (11/2018)

  • 91 Wine Enthusiast

Coming from a site planted in 1997, the aromas are brooding but still draw you into the glass, with notes of blackberry, dark plum, black raspberry, licorice and whiffs of dried orange peel and smoked meat. The palate is deep and rich, packing a powerful punch with an extended finish following, with Amaro-like bitters. (SS) (3/2019)
