The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon from winemaker Anna Monticelli, which includes 11% Malbec, 6% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc, comes from multiple appellations in Napa Valley and spent 23 months in 40% new barrels. Just bottled two weeks ago, it’s a killer value in Napa Valley Cabernet offering loads of ripe cassis and blackberry fruit, hints of oak and white chocolate, medium-bodied richness, and a sexy, layered, elegant style. Again, it’s a great value.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley is blended of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 6% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc aged 23 months in 40% new French oak. It’s sourced from St. Helena (40%), Oakville (33%), Oak Knoll (22%) and Carneros (5%). Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with gregarious notes of crushed black cherries, mulberries and cassis with tons of Indian spices and floral notes in the background. The palate is full-bodied, rich and spicy with a velvety texture and plenty of freshness on the earth-laced finish.
